Sanjeev Rajput bags silver in 50m Rifle 3 positions


Jakarta: Sanjeev Rajput won a silver medal in the three positions final 50m Rifle event with a score of 452.7 on the third day of the 18th Asian Games here on Tuesday.

Zicheng Hui of China clinched gold and Japan’s Takayuki Matsumoto won the bronze medal in the event.

Earlier, Rajput won a bronze medal in the same category at the Asian Games 2006 in Doha, silver medal in Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2014 and bronze in CWG 2006.

With this, Rajput had also booked a spot in the finals of The 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018.

Earlier in the day, Sourav Choudhary has won India’s third gold and Abhishek Verma won second bronze for India.

Meanwhile, Indian Men’s team won India’s maiden Asian Games medal in Sepaktakraw. Despite losing the Men’s Regu Team semi-final 2-0 to defending champions Thailand, India won bronze as both the losing semifinalists are also awarded a medal.
