Cuttack: A single-member team represented by Odisha Higher Education Department under secretary Prasant Kumar Das on Tuesday began a probe into the alleged irregularities in the management of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack.
The team will probe into the alleged anomalies appointment of lecturers and guest faculties, procurement of equipment and financial management in the last two years.
Das told the media that, “Ravenshaw is facing a lot of problems because of which I was asked to probe and I’ll try my best to successfully conduct the investigation.” Das also added that he will submit his report to the department’s Principal Secretary after completion of the probe.
The move came in the wake of an order by Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal to probe into the alleged irregularities in the management of the varsity.
In July, Lal had asked the Higher Education Department to initiate a probe and submit a report within 60 days.
