RSS worker hacked in Kerala: BJP calls for state-wide strike


Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for a statewide shutdown on Sunday in protest against the killing of a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) worker Rajesh Edavakode died after being attacked.

Rajesh (34) died in a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram after the brutal attack in which his palm was chopped off. The incident happened on Saturday night around 9 pm in the state capital.

One person was taken into custody here today in connection with the murder of an RSS worker.

The incident comes close on the heels of the attack of BJP’s Kerala unit office and stone pelting at the house of CPI (M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s son Bineesh Kodiyeri here.
