Rs 2.65 lakh meant for old age pensions looted at gunpoint in Rourkela
Rourkela: In a broad daylight robbery, bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted Rs 2.65 lakh from a Panchayat Extension Officer (PEO) at gunpoint near Andhari panchayat under Biramitrapur police limits today.
According to reports, two masked bike-borne miscreants apprehended the PEO, identified as Mickhail Logoon, at Dhangrinacha square and looted Rs 2.65 lakh at gunpoint meant for old age pensions.
He was in charge of Andhari and Kandobahal panchayats and was on his way to distribute pension to the beneficiaries.
The robbers fled the spot after committing the crime.
Biramitrapur police rushed the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
