Rs 19L looted from bankers at gunpoint in Bolangir
Bolangir: In another broad daylight robbery, three unidentified bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted Rs 19 lakh from two bank employees at gunpoint near Sarasbahal Chhak on the Deogaon Bangala-Kuturla road here on Tuesday.
According to reports, Rs 19 lakh was being taken to Bandhapara Andhra Bank from Tusura branch in a Maruti van.
The miscreants waylaid the vehicle near Sarasbahal Chhak and thrashed the vehicle driver before breaking the window panes of the car.
The desperados then threatened the Tusura Andhra Bank cashier Motilal Nag and peon Gandhi Mondal, who were present in the car, with a gun and made blank firing.
The looters made away with the box containing the cash of Rs 19 lakh and sped away.
According to available information, the vehicle driver Ghanshyam Ghadei sustained critical injuries in the attack and was admitted to the Bolangir Medical College and Hospital.
On getting information, Tusura inspector-in-charge Panchnana Nayak launched a probe into the loot incident.
