The girl told the police that she was waiting to board a train at the Rourkela railway station on December 31 for Jharsuguda, her native place. In the meantime, she met a youth who posed to be her brother’s friend.
After gaining the girl’s trust, the youth then tricked her to board a Jharkhand-bound train along with him citing that due to track repair works, the train would be diverted via the neighbouring state. The youth also assured that he would accompany her in the journey to reach home safely, the girl’s complaint stated.
The youth then asked her to get down at Lotapahad railway station with him to catch a bus to Jharsuguda. However, he took the girl to a house and confined her.
