Rewari gangrape case: Two accused including Army man held
Chandigarh: Two remaining accused, including an Army man in the sensational Rewari gangrape case, who were on the run were nabbed by the police on Sunday, after ten days of the incident, police said.
Army man Pankaj and Manish were arrested by the Haryana Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) for allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl from Rewari on September 12.
DGP B S Sandhu said with the arrest of Manish and the Army man, Pankaj, all the key accused allegedly involved in the incident, have now been arrested. Earlier, another key accused, Nishu, was arrested last week and later sent to a four-day judicial custody.
The SIT had also arrested two other persons identified as Deen Dayal and Sanjeev in connection with the case last week which had triggered nationwide outrage.
Notably, on September 12, the woman, an ex-CBSE topper hailing from Rewari, was abducted at a bus stop in Kanina town in the neighbouring Mahendragarh district while she was on the way to a coaching class. She was then allegedly drugged and gang-raped at a secluded spot.
