Chennai: Removal of Article 370 will lead to end of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah here on Sunday said.
Shah asserted that removal of Article 370 will end terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and set the Kashmir Valley on a new path of progress. He also revealed that there was no confusion in his mind regarding the consequences of removing the special status from the state.
“As a legislator, I firmly believe that Article 370 should have been removed a long time ago. As a Home Minister, there was no confusion in my mind about the consequences of removing Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir,” Shah said in Chennai.
Speaking on the launching ceremony of the book “Listening, Learning and Leading” a book written by Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu in Chennai, Shah said a new era has dawned upon the Valley.
Before Amit Shah’s speech, Rajinikanth lauded the Centre’s move to abrogate Article 370 and congratulated Union Home Minister for handling the situation in Jammu and Kashmir phenomenally.
The Tamil superstar also likened the duo of Amit Shah and PM Modi to Krishna and Arjuna.
