Railway Min flags off passenger train to Nayagarh
Bhubaneswar: After 25 years of the formation of the district, the first regular passenger train to Nayagarh on the Khurda Road-Balangir railway line project was flagged off by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu from New Delhi through videoconference on Monday.
Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan and Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patsani were present with him during the ceremony.
While the train on this route was earlier running from Khurda Road to Bolagarh Road, it was now extended till Nayagarh.
Besides, flagging off the new passenger train service, Prabhu inaugurated the Nayagarh station and public halt at Bolagarh. A special inauguration function was organised at Nayagarh Road station on the occasion. Nayagarh MLA Arun Sahu, who boarded the train in its journey from Nayagarh to Bolagarh, thanked everyone for fulfillment of a longtime demand of the people of the district.
