Chandigarh: Almost a week after Navjot Singh Sidhu’s resignation from Punjab cabinet, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today accepted his resignation letter and forwarded it to Governor VP Singh Badnore.
On July 15, Sidhu had sent his resignation to the CM but the latter had not accepted it. However, the decision was finally taken on Saturday morning. With the acceptance of his resignation, the stalemate between the duo has ended.
Notably, on June 6, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had divested Sidhu of the Local Government and Tourism and Cultural Affairs Departments and allotted him the power, new and renewable energy portfolio.
