Probe begins into death of disabled school caretaker in Bolangir


Bolangir: The mysterious death of a differently-abled female caretaker of a school for disabled near Bolangir is being probed by Disability Commissioner Minati Behera. Also, one person has been arrested in this connection.

The caretaker, 22 year old Nalini Padhan, daughter of Mattosa Padhan of Burobhadi village was working at the Dr BC Jena blind, dumb and deaf school in Patharachepa. Allegedly, she had committed suicide by setting herself on fire.

The secretary of the school, Damodar Patel has been arrested. Disability Commissioner Behera visited Bolangir to probe the incident on Friday. The school founder Bibhuti Jena told the Commissioner that Patel had been frequently misbehaving with Nalini. While Patel has not accepted this allegation, Commissioner Behera has stated that founder of the school Jena is equally responsible for the tragedy.
