President Ram Nath Kovind arrives in Odisha to dedicate Anand Bhawan Museum


Bhubaneswar: President Ram Nath Kovind today arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here at 10.30 AM along with his wife Savita Kovind and was accorded a ceremonial guard of honour at the airport.

This is the Kovind’s first official visit Odisha after being elected as the President.

The President was received by Odisha Governor SC Jamir, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, State Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, DGP RP Sharma, City Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena and other senior officials of the state administration.

During this two-day official visit to the state, the President would dedicate the Anand Bhwan Museum and a Learning Centre at Tulasipur in Cuttack to the people on the same day.  Thereafter the President would grace Foundation Day Celebration of National Law University in Cuttack.

The President will then leave for Puri in the evening and have a night stay at Circuit House.

Kovind and his family will visit the Lord Jagannath temple in the holy city on Sunday. Later, the President will inaugurate the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan’s centenary celebrations in Puri.

Senior officers were given the charges of supervision and completion. It has been decided by the state administration to set up a specific control room in Home department under the charges of Special Secretary Home (Protocol) for coordination of the entire programme.
