Pre-poll violence injures five in BJB college

Bhubaneswar: At least five students, including two girls, were injured after a group clash erupted on Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) College campus on Monday.

The injured were rushed to the Capital Hospital here for treatment and their condition is stated to be stable.

According to sources, two groups representing different political parties reportedly attacked each other violently today.

The fight erupted near the main gate of the college at around 10 a.m after a group of non-students passed comments at a group of students interested in the upcoming students’ union election.

As the students from both the parties are admitted in the same hospital,  security has been tightened at the hospital premises and on the college campus.

With students’ union election nearing, the pre-poll violence has triggered tension in the college campus.
