Pratyasha Ray scripts history, bags gold medals at SAAC meet


Bhubaneswar: Rising sports star Odia swimmer Pratyasha Ray made history by winning two gold medals and one silver at the ongoing South Asian Aquatic Championships (SAAC) in Colombo Sri Lanka.

Pratyasha bagged top spots in 4 X 100 m relay event and 4 X 100 m mixed relay while went on for a runners-up spot during the 50 m backstroke event in the championships.

After such a feat Pratyasha became the first ever Odia to win an international swimming event.

Earlier during June this year, Pratyasha grabbed headlines by winning gold medals in the junior category of  43rd Junior National Aquatic Championships held at Bangalore, becoming the first ever Odia swimmer to win at any national meet.
