Policeman dies in grenade attack on police station in J&K
Srinagar: A policeman was killed after terrorists hurled a grenade and fired at a police station in south Kashmir’s Shopian on Sunday morning.
According to sources, the policeman, identified as Sakib Mohi u Din of Zawoora, was injured when militants opened fire and hurled grenades at the police station. He was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed during treatment.
The terrorists reportedly escaped into the nearby forest after the attack, the police said. The area has been cordoned off and a search operation is underway.
