Police recover Rs 2.3 crore, jewellery from residence of IRS officer in Rajasthan

Jaipur: Police raided the residence of an Indian Revenue Service officer in Shankar Vihar area of Jagatpur in Jaipur and recovered assets worth crores of rupees.

Police said in the massive exposé documents of as many as 82 plots of land were found during the search operation conducted at Sahi Ram Meena’s residence.

Meena holds the post of Deputy Commissioner (Narcotics) in Kota, Rajasthan.

Police sources said documents of as many as 25 shops across Jaipur were also recovered during the raid.

According to reports police recovered ₹2.26 crore in cash, along with jewellery and other valuables worth ₹6.22 lakh.

Documents of a flat in Mumbai, a 1.2-hectare plot of agricultural land in Jaipur’s Sanganer, a petrol pump in the heart of the state capital, a marriage garden were also recovered.

Media reports said the officer was taking bribes on a regular basis for favours.
