Police of 3 states working on missing AIIMS student’s case: RP Sharma
Bhubaneswar: After two weeks since J&K medico Suhail Aijaz went missing from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, Odisha DGP RP Sharma today informed that a detailed investigation is being conducted and the police of three States including Jammu and Kashmir and West Bengal are on the job.
Suhail Aijaz, a resident of Kupwara district in J&K and pursuing MBBS at the institute since 2016, left his hostel on February 9, and has been missing since then. However, police is still clueless about his whereabouts.
DGP RP Sharma said the probe is moving in the right direction and cops of at least 3 states are working in close cooperation.
So far police have not got information regarding the missing student’s facebook and other social media activities which are also being verified for some clues, Sharma further revealed.
Earlier, the second-year student had informed the authorities of the institute that he was going to Chandigarh with his friends to attend a wedding ceremony and would be back on February 17.
However, the AIIMS authorities had lodged a missing complaint after Suhail did not turn up at the hostel on February 18.
