PM misleading nation for political gains: Karnataka CM
Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of misleading the country for “political gains” on loan waiver issue.
He said Modi’s reference to the loan waiver as “one of the most cruel jokes” is unfortunate.
He said the JD(S)-Congress coalition government is commitment towards implementation of the massive farm loan waiver scheme announced by it.
Over 60,000 farmers have been benefitted by it so far, he claimed.
The Karnataka chief minister said crop loan waiver is a commitment our government has made to the farmers of the state to safeguard their interest.
“It is very sad that he (Modi) sees it as a ‘cruel joke on farmers,’ (thus) misleading the people of the nation without obtaining the full fact about the scheme,” Kumaraswamy said.
