Nagpur (Maharashtra): Congress chief Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of lying due to ageing and doing too many things in a haste.
Rahul said he will not resort to lies as he wants to have a long-term relationship with the people. Most of the promises made by Modi in 2014 are never fulfilled, Rahul said.
Rahul said he promised jobs for 2 crore youth and 15 lakh rupees in bank accounts, but none was fulfilled.
Addressing a rally here he said while Modi only makes “false promises”, the Congress party does work.
Dwelling upon the proposed minimum income guarantee programme of Nyuntam Aay Yojana (NYAY) , Rahul said his party decided on the scheme as “Modi had made a false promise” on depositing Rs 15 lakh in bank accounts.
The Congress president described NYAY as the “surgical strike” on poverty.
Just like Arjun, the epic character of Mahabharata who focused on the eye of the fish, he will hit the target.
Rahul said :“In five years, Congress will put 3.6 lakh rupees in the accounts of all the 20 per cent poorest people of the country.”
