Plus III girl student found murdered in Balasore


Balasore: The blood-soaked body of a Plus III girl student, with throat slit, was recovered from a field near Naraharipur village in Balasore district today.

The deceased, identified as Supriya Behera (20) of Bangara village. She was a Plus III Arts student at Remuna Degree college.

According to sources, locals spotted the body dumped near a bamboo bush in the vicinity of Naraharipur village and alerted the police about the same. Later, the cops reached the spot and sent the body for post mortem.

Earlier today, the deceased’s father had lodged a complaint with Remuna police alleging that she was kidnapped by a youth of the same village yesterday.

As per the complaint, Supriya went to attend her tuition classes on Thursday afternoon but did not return home as she was allegedly abducted by a youth of the village.

During the inquiry, some locals also claimed that Supriya was last seen with one Sujan Puthan (27) of Remuna.

Meanwhile, cops have registered a case regarding the incident and a probe into the same is underway, sources said.
