Plus II student shot at in broad daylight in Capital city


Bhubaneswar: A youth sustained critical bullet injuries after four miscreants opened fire at him near Shirdi Sai temple under Sahid Nagar police limits in Bhubaneswar in a broad daylight on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Sushant Bhoi of Sisupalgarh, is a Plus II student of Balakati College.

According to sources, Sushant was travelling on his motorcycle at around 2.15 pm when came in a car and tried to snatch his motorcycle. There was a tussle between them and in course of which the culprits opened fire at him. Sushant sustained injuries to his back and legs.

Sushant was initially rushed to Capital Hospital in a critical condition and subsequently. Later, his health condition deteriorated and his family member shifted him to Trinity hospital in Sahid Nagar for better treatment.

The condition of the youth was stated to be critical. His mother said that she was informed about the attack over an anonymous phone call.

Sahid Nagar police launched a probe into the matter. While the miscreants have left the motorcycle of victim near the spot, they fled with his cellphone. The police are trying to trace the location of Sushant’s phone that could help them to trace the attackers.

The reason for this attack is yet to be ascertained. Police Commissioner visited the spot and enquired about the condition injured person.
