PK Mohapatra gets additional charge of chief administrator of Srimandir

Bhubaneswar: In a significant development, Odisha government on Monday gave additional charge of chief administrator of Shree Jagannath temple administration (SJTA) in Puri to Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra, principal secretary of School and Mass Education department, replacing Pradeep Kumar Jena.

Mohapatra had earlier served as the chief administrator of Puri Jagannath temple.

The appointment of Mohapatra as the chief administrator came at a time when the controversy over missing Ratna Bhandar keys and alleged mismanagement and harassment of devotes at Jagannath temple have surcharged the political atmosphere in the state.

Recently, the Supreme Court has passed a slew of directions and asked the district court in Puri to probe the alleged mismanagement at the 12th-century shrine.
