Philippines earthquake kills 15, over 100 injured


Manila: A powerful magnitude earthquake in the southern Philippines killed at least 15 people and injured more than 120 others, officials said on Saturday.

Surigao Governor Sol Matugas said the quake struck late Friday night, 14 km northwest of the city.

As per reports, the earthquake caused power outages in the city destroyed the airport runway, bridges and buildings, including hotels and school.

Notably, a magnitude 7.7 quake killed nearly 2,000 people on the northern island of Luzon in 1990.
