Petrol pump manager robbed of Rs 1.7L in Jagatsinghpur
Jagatsinghpur: Two unidentified bike-borne miscreants opened fire and looted Rs 1,69,350 from a petrol filling station manager near Puranaudapada under Raghunathpur police limits in Jagatsinghpur district on Monday.
The victim, identified as Kailash Chandra Das, works as the manager of a Narayani petrol pump in the locality.
According to sources, the incident took place at around 2 pm when Das was headed to the bank on his motorcycle to deposit the cash. Meanwhile, two masked men trailed him and waylaid him in a secluded place.
The desperadoes shot bullets at the manager following a confrontation. However, the manager had a narrow escape as the bullets hit his motorcycle. The looters then snatched away the bag containing the cash and decamped on Paradip road, said a source.
On being informed, police reached the spot and started an investigation. The manager of the petrol pump has also lodged an FIR with the Raghunathpur police.
