Party star campaigners to hit Telangana elections
Hyderabad: With the deadline for withdrawal of nominations coming to an end on Thursday in Telangna, all major contenders are busy finalising their schedules for star campaigners.
The star campaigners of BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhif and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu are ready to hit the campaign. Several central ministers and top leaders of the two national parties are to hit the campaign trail soon.
Sources said Sonia Gandhi is scheduled to address an election meeting at Medchal on November 23.Rahul Gandhi will share dais with her mother.
This is Sonia Gandhi’s first visit to Telangana after the formation of the state. Rahul Gandhi will again visit Telangana on November 28 and 29 and later on December 3 to address a series of election meetings in the state.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address a few rallies on November 27 and December 3. Party sources said Modi may participate in the campaign in four districts. Shah will visit Telangana for three days to address 12 rallies in a row.
Telangana unit president K. Laxman saidS Shah will address the meetings on November 25, 27 and 28. BJP is contesting all 119 seats on its own. Several union ministers are also likely to campaign for the polls in the state.
