New Delhi: The Department of Posts is conducting a national level letter-writing competition on the theme, “Letter to My Motherland”.
According to Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Mumbai, under the competition, named as Dhai Akhar, letters should be handwritten in English or Hindi or a local language.
The competition is for two age groups – up to 18 years and above 18 years, with two categories inland letter card (ILC) & envelope in each age group.
Candidates should write letters on A-4 sheets, in not more than 1000 words for the envelope category and in not more than 500 words for the ILC category.
The prizes at the circle level include Rs 25,000 for the first prize, Rs 10,000 for the second and Rs 5,000 for the third. At the national level, the winner would get Rs 50,000, the runner-up Rs 25,000 and the second runner-up Rs 10,000.
Letters have to be addressed to “Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra, Circle, Mumbai – 400001” and should be sent before 30th September 2018. Participants have to attest their age on their letter saying – I certify that I am below / above the age of 18 as on January 1, 2018.
