Panaji: In a latest development, former state RSS chief of Goa Subhash Velingkar said the Goa government has become non-functional with Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
He said on Sunday that Parrikar is not leaving the top post despite being diseased with pancreatic cancer.
Velingkar said it is a mistake to take people for granted and added that this would not have happened in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Sources said Velingkar has been responsible for grooming party’s top leaders in the state including Manohar Parrikar, Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shripad Naik, and former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar.
He was sacked from the RSS in 2016, after he criticized Parrikar for going back on the principles of Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party.
The former RSS chief of the state said the government is not functioning properly and added that the chief minister does not have the courage to face the people.
Velingkar also said due to infighting in the state, Goa is heading for a mid-term poll along with the Lok Sabha elections next year.
He said the state of indecision will collapse the coalition of BJP, Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, Goa Forward and four independent MLAs..
