Paradip murder: Lookout circular issued against Mahimananda Mishra

Paradip: Jagatsinghpur police on Friday issued Lookout Circular against industrialist, Mahimananda Mishra, Managing Director of Orissa Stevedores Limited in connection with murder case of Mahendra Swain, General Manager of Seaways Shipping and Logistics Limited (SSL) who was shot dead by unidentified miscreants on October 26.

Earlier, Mahendra’s elder brother, Rajkishore Swain had lodged an FIR on the day of murder against OSL Director Basant Kumar Bal, Senior Executives, Subash Charndra Acharya and Devi Prasad Tripathy alongwith Mahimananda Mishra. Jagatsinghpur SP, Jaynarayan Pankaj on Friday said that the LOC has been issued against all the persons named in the FIR to prevent them from moving out of the city and country.

Mahendra was shot near Ambedkar Bhawan at Madhuban colony in Paradip by two miscreants. Two crude hand bombs were hurled at the SUV in which Mahendra was travelling and while trying to escape, two rounds were fired at him.

Interestingly, during investigation police had last week found a letter written by Mahendra in which he had mentioned threat to life. He had named Mishra and Bal to be threatening him over stevedoring dispute. Mahendra had requested for security by Paradip Police in the letter. Police found the letter in the SSL office, sources said
