New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir was put on high alert after intelligence inputs suggested that militants are planning Pulwama-style IED attack in Awantipora.

The sources said that Pakistan has informed India about a possible terror attack by militants to avenge the killing of Zakir Musa. Musa was the close associate of Burhan Wani, the commander of al Qaeda linked Ansar Ghazwat-ul Hind.

He was killed in an encounter with security forces in Tral in Pulwama on May 24.

The reports said that Pakistani authorities have done this to avoid any sort of blame, either by India or international community.

Official said that Pakistan shared the inputs with the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. The same input was shared with the United States.

The Indian government has shared the Intelligence reports with the United States before the SCO summit in Bishkek, reports said.

According to reports, the inputs warned about a possible terror attack by the militants using an improvised explosive device (IED) mounted on a vehicle in Awantipora town of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.
