Orissa HC seeks Case Diary in MLA Pravat Biswal arrest case
Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Tuesday called for the case diary (CD) from the CBI while conducting hearing on the bail plea of senior BJD leader and Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Pravat Ranjan Biswal, who has been arrested by the CBI in September last year for his alleged involvement in the Seashore chit fund scam.
The 50-year-old politician is hospitalized ever since his arrest six months ago. The High Court had earlier rejected his bail application that was filed citing health grounds.
However, after the CBI filed the charge-sheet against him, the ruling party MLA has applied for regular bail. Adjudicating it, Justice SK Mishra sought the CD from the CBI and posted the matter to be taken up again next week.
