Orissa HC Bar Association launches cease work protesting CBI entry into sitting judge’s residence


Cuttack: Protesting the entry of CBI officials into the house of a sitting judge at Cantonment Road area here late last night, the Orissa High Court Bar Association today launched a cease work agitation till Thursday afternoon.

The irate lawyers demanded a judicial probe into the raid at the official residence of the sitting judge.

The High Court Bar Association convened an urgent meeting of its executive body at 1.15 PM and decided to resort to a cease work protest till Thursday 1.15 PM.

The association also apprised Chief Justice Vineet Saran about the matter.

According to reports, while raiding the house of a retired High Court judge, the CBI officials had entered into the house of a sitting judge.

However, the sleuths left the house immediately after they realised that have done a mistake.

Notably, Odisha DGP R.P Sharma and Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner Y.B Khurania were spotted entering the High Court, but the reason is yet to be ascertained.
