Opposition parties to target govt in Parliament on various issues during monsoon session


New Delhi: Eighteen opposition parties have come together to take on the government in parliament during the Monsoon Session beginning July 17 over demonetisation, GST and various other issues, sources said.

As per sources, leaders of these parties discussed the broad strategy and issues to be taken up in parliament during the meeting in Delhi on Tuesday, which was primarily convened to discuss the opposition’s nominee for the Vice Presidential polls.

Notably, the monsoon session of Parliament will commence on July 17, the day voting for the presidential election will take place.

The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) has recommended holding the session from July 17 to August 11.
