One killed, 35 injured in three separate road accidents


Cuttack/ Rayagada: One person was killed and at least 35 others sustained injuries in three separate road accidents in the state on Tuesday.

The first accident was reported from Raygada district. The accident took place when a private bus was heading to Jagdalpur from Tumurineluei. The driver lost control over wheels and skidded off the road. As many as 32 persons were injured in which two are stated to be critical. The injured passengers were rushed to the nearby hospital.

According to sources, another accident took place this morning at Ranasankha village under Banki police limits. The incident happened when the bus from Balipahada was heading to Cuttack. Meanwhile, the bus skidded off the road due to over speeding. Reportedly three persons including a woman and a child sustained serious injuries.

The injured persons were rushed to Banki Sub Divisional Hospital and are undergoing treatment.

The accident is reported from Kanpur area. The incident took place last night when a Bolero was returning from Gamilo village after attending a marriage party. The driver lost control over wheels and rammed to roadside tree. The deceased was identified as Hadibandhu sahu.

Sahu was rushed to Kanpur Community Health Centre (CHC) and later was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack where he succumbed to his injuries.
