One killed, 32 injured in grenade blast at Jammu bus stand

Jammu: The blast at the crowded Jammu bus stand at the heart of the city on Thursday has left one teenager dead and thirty two injured, officials said.

He is identified as Mohammad Sharik, 17, a resident of Haridwar in Uttarakhand. The condition of four more injured persons was stated to be critical.

The grenade attack is suspected to be triggered by terrorists in the crowded general bus stand area, police officials said.

Police officials said this is the third grenade attack by ultras in Jammu bus stand since May last year.

Police said the injured included 11 residents of Kashmir, two from Bihar and one each from Chattisgarh and Haryana.

Inspector General of Police, Jammu, M K Sinha said preliminary investigation suggested that someone lobbed the grenade in the bus stand area around noon.
