Odisha student killed for not repaying Rs 7K
Nuapada: Odisha police arrested two youths for allegedly killing and setting a class-X student afire in Khariar area of Nuapada district after he failed to repay Rs 7,000 taken as loan from one of them.
The murder had taken place on March 30.
The accused duo has been identified as Manoranjan Saraf and Rahul Kumar of Khadiala Town.
The deceased Baibhav Saraf was son of a local trader Kailash Saraf.
Informing on the arrest at a press conference the Nuapada SP Smit P. Parmar said the killing was carried out over a money transaction dispute.
Baibhav who had taken a loan of Rs 7,000 from one of the accused had failed to pay back it following which a dispute erupted between the two sides.
The accused duo hatched a plan and abducted Baibhav on the day of the incident and hacked him to death. Later, they took the body to Bundia forest near Ranipur village and set it afire to destroy evidences.
The accused duo has been forwarded to court by police.
