Odisha police to procure two drone cameras for surveillance
Bhubaneswar: Odisha police will procure two drone cameras worth Rs 15 lakh each for the surveillance of Bhubaneswar city and Gurupriya Bridge along with the cut-off areas of Malkangiri district, DGP RP Sharma informed on Friday.
“As the vehicular movement has started off on Gurupriya Bridge, the state police is now able to launch operations in that area which were not possible earlier,” Sharma said.
“According to the action plan of Odisha Police, constructions of roads which were a requirement in the cut-off areas have already been started by the Malkangiri (R&B) Division,” he added
“Earlier, all the anti-Maoist operations were being launched from Andhra Pradesh as it was difficult from the cut-off areas in Odisha. Now we are able to launch operations from Odisha and our aim is to completely free the area from Naxals,” said DGP Sharma.
