Odisha police extends help to Maoist leader’s ailing mother


Kalimela: Constructing a bridge of humanity, Malkangiri police today treated the ailing mother of Maoist leader Randev alias Deba Madhi bringing her to hospital.

According sources, the police got to know that Rame Madhi, mother of Randev was not keeping well for last few days, following which they tried to pursue the family members of Randev to come to Kalimela to consult the doctor.

However, due to threat of Maoists, they were not coming to Kalimela for her treatment despite frequent requests of the police.

At last, police sent the SOG team to Badatekguda village to convince the family members. This finally raised their confidence in police and today they came to Kalimela Police Station.

Ram Prasad Nag, IIC, Kalimela actively helped them and assisted them in hospital for treatment of ailing Rame Madhi, who was suffering from high blood pressure and deficiency of hemoglobin.

Police also purchased the medicines as per the prescription of the doctor.

We urge all Maoists to surrender. If they join mainstream, the pace of development will become further higher, said Ram Prasad Nag.

Randev alias Deba Madhi joined CPI (M) in 2004. At present, he is Divisional Committee Member (DCM) in Kalimela Dalam. His family lives in Badatekguda. His father is Singha Madhi and two brothers are Nanda Madhi and Sukra Madhi.
