Bhubaneswar: In a bid to mark the 102nd birth anniversary of legendary leader and former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, Odisha Government today organized a Mini Marathon here.
The marathon that was held from Forest Park to Kalinga Stadium was inaugurated by Sports Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera. Speaking on the occasion, Behera said, “Like every year, the marathon was organized to sensitize youths about heroism of Biju Babu”. Hundreds of people participated in the event.
Besides, the state would also observe the Panchayati Raj Divas on the day. The State Government is all set to launch Ama Gaon, Ama Vikas programme to reach out to the people in rural areas to involve them in various developmental activities. Meanwhile, mobile video vans which were flagged off by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik a few days ago would move across the State to highlight various welfare schemes.
On the other hand, Naveen would also directly communicate with common people and people’s representatives through video conference at the State Secretariat here.
According to sources, all arrangements are in place for the video conferencing during which people from Sambalpur, Jajpur, Ganjam and Narayanpatna would appraise Naveen regarding their various issues following which the state government will work accordingly to resolve the problems in their villages.
Besides, the Panchayati Raj Divas will also be observed in various districts across Odisha with several programmes to mark the day.
