Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department on Thursday signed an MoU with TCIL, Department of Telecommunication for Smart and Virtual Classrooms in 101 Degree Colleges in the state.
Another MoU was signed between the Higher Education Department and Dhyeya Educational Services Pvt. Ltd. to provide a comprehensive, quality based coaching to Civil Service Aspirants of the state.
Bisnupada Sethi, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, HE Department signed both the MoUs with Rajiv Sahani, Group General Manager, TCIL and Kamrul Haq Khan, Director, Dheya Educational Services.
As per the MoU with TCIL, 51 government and 50 Aided Colleges will be equipped with Smart and Virtual Classrooms. This will bring about digitization in imparting education to students in the most advanced manner.
Each Smart Classroom will have Desktop, Interactive White Board, Short Throw-Projector, Portable Visualizer, White Board, Green Board, Wireless Microphone, Camera.
This will expose the students of Odisha to a system of modern & quality education which be faster, practical based with Audiovisual impact. The students of these degree colleges can learn through audio-visual learning mode.
The teachers & students in the classroom can interact with the students of other degree colleges with the help of Smart Classroom. Though the advanced features the entire classroom teaching can be recorded and can be used for conducting classes for other students.
Under the MoU with Dhyeya Educational Services Pvt. Ltd, the government will provide qualitative civil services coaching to Odia students at Bhubaneswar, as our students are unable to afford coaching in metro cities like Delhi, Hyderabad.
The government has come out with an ambitious scheme by offering 75% fee waiver to students selected under the scheme, and 100% fee waiver to students with family income upto 2 lakhs per annum.
In addition, higher education minister Anant Das launched Standard Uniform Syllabi for undergraduate students, keeping in view of the international standard syllabus which will enable the students for employment and research.
