Odisha Govt hikes stipend of BHMS and BAMS house surgeons


Bhubaneswar: The State Government has hiked the stipend of the house surgeons of government-run homeopathic & ayurvedic colleges from Rs 9000 to Rs 12000 per month.

Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) and Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) House Surgeons of government colleges will get the hiked stipend from academic year 2018-19 onwards, Health Minister Pratap Jena said.

Notably, the government had on Friday approved incentives for doctors under Odisha Medical Health Services Cadre.

As per the decisions, Doctors with super specialisation from medical colleges recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) will get an incentive of Rs.30, 000 per month and the postgraduates will Rs 20, 000 per month.

Similarly, doctors with postgraduate diploma recognised by the Odisha government will get an incentive of Rs 10, 000 per month.

It is learnt that these incentives will be over and above the previous place-based incentives. However, these are not linked to any post and purely based on the required qualification.
