Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) will hold an intense meeting for three days starting tomorrow, said Odisha Congress in-charge Jitendra Singh on Saturday.
The meetings which will be attended by district presidents and members of the newly-formed committees including that of Pradesh Election Committee would discuss the party’s strategy for upcoming elections and how the campaigns will be executed, Singh said.
This meeting will be crucial for the party aspirants as this will be the first important screening for selection of party candidates and distribution of tickets for the upcoming election. The Election Committee will also scrutinize the applications of the candidates.
The shady deal between the Centre and the French government on the purchase of Rafale fighter jets will also be discussed in this meeting. The BJP-led central government has played with the fate of Odisha youths by entering into the Rafale deal with France government, Singh alleged.
The further plan for the upcoming election was discussed in a meeting with AICC chief Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi, on Saturday.
Singh will fly to Bhubaneswar on Sunday to conduct the three-day long Pradesh Election Committee meeting, sources said.
