Odisha Bandh: District Collectors Asked To Take Preventive Measures

In a letter to the district Collectors, Home department special secretary, Lalit Das has asked to take preventive measures to maintain law and order as it is apprehended that the protestor may stop vehicular traffic, rail traffic and close down business establishments besides picketing before government offices, banks and educational institutions.

The Home Department, in the letter, has also asked the Collectors to instruct the officers and other staff of their respective districts to reach the office by 9.30 AM.

Notably, the Nabanirman Krushak Sangathan has declared to go for Odisha Bandh on February 21 (Thursday) demanding Price, Prestige and Pension.

The State Government had earlier urged the farmers’ body to desist from the state-wide bandh called by it as it may hit the movement of question papers & answer sheets for the annual HSC board examination scheduled to be held on February 22.
