Odisha Assembly adjourned till 3pm today


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly, on the second day of its Monsoon Session witnessed ruckus created by ruling-BJD legislators demanding hike in minimum support price (MSP) on paddy following which Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat adjourned the House till 3 pm today.

Notably, the first day of Assembly session was adjourned till today after obituary references to sitting MLA Late Subal Sahu of Bijepur Assembly constituency, former MLA Sura Sethi and ex-constable Laxmikant Jani of Odisha Police.

The Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat and members of State Assembly including Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Leader of Opposition Narasingha Mishra and MLA Pradeep Purohit described their losses as irreparable and the Speaker later adjourned the house for the day till today in respect of the departed souls.
