Noted poet Hrushikesh Mallick lauded with Sarala Award


Bhubaneswar: Illustrious litterateur and Odia poet Dr. Hrushikesh Mallick has been conferred with the 37th prestigious Sarala Award on Wednesday for his outstanding poetry work.

Mallick was lauded by Kendria Sahitya Academy Vice President Chnadrasekhar Kambar  with a cash prize of Rs. Five lakh and a citation for his magnificent “Jeje Dekhi Nathiba Bharat” work during a function held here today evening.

Similarly, Dr. Dinanath Pathi was honoured with Ila Panda Memorial Art Samman posthumously while Gopal Chandra Panda was felicitated with Ila Panda Memorial Music Samman. Both of them were awarded a cash prize of Rs. 1.5 lakh and citations.

Sarala award which was set up in 1979 by Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT), a charitable trust of IMFA Group, is the most prestigious literary award in the state recognized by the Kendriya Sahitya Academy.
