Patna: Not all is well with RJD’s first family. Party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son and former state Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav on Saturday warned his brother Tejashwi against outsiders trying to create differences between them and accused his younger brother of trying to sideline him in the party.
Tej Pratap complained that people in the party were not listening to him and sought action against elements in the party “out to create fissures” between him and younger brother Tejashwi.
The elder Yadav said, “We all do politics. But the kind of politics that is being played in RJD right now is extremely saddening”.
There are certain anti-social elements who have entered the party and are trying to ruin the party, he added.
Though Tej is elder, Younger Tejashwi plays a bigger role in RJD’s power structure. RJD and its allies have declared Tejashwi the CM face of the alliance for 2020 assembly polls.
Soon after the news started doing the rounds, Tej Pratap issued a clarification on Twitter saying, “Tejashwi is the apple of my eyes. Don’t try to create differences between us by spreading these rumours.”
Sources said Tej was miffed over his close aide Rajendra Paswan not being appointed as RJD’s state general secretary. “He (Rajendra) is a dalit. We talk about the welfare of dalits… Certain party people don’t listen to me and say they’ve been asked by senior functionaries not to do so (not to heed my suggestion),” Tej said.
