No plan to form a new party now: Mulayam
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday tweeted “Long live Netaji, Long live the SP”, minutes after his father and party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav said he doesn’t plan to form a new party as of now.
The timing was interesting because most political watchers fully expected that Mulayam Singh to announce the formation of a new party on Monday. He didn’t.
Addressing a press conference in Lucknow on Monday, the Samajwadi leader said that though his blessings remained with son Akhilesh, he did not agree with the decisions taken by him.
Mulayam Singh, who was sidelined by his son before the Uttar Pradesh election earlier this year and left to a mentorship role in the party he founded 25 years ago, was expected to announce a new outfit – the Akhil Bharatiya Samajwadi party, according to reports.
