New Delhi: There seems to be no immediate relief for P Chidambaram as Supreme Court Justice NV Ramana has sent the file to CJI for passing the order.

Justice Ramana on Wednesday turned down the plea for an urgent hearing on the former finance minister’s interim bail application.

Chidambaram’s lawyers , Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi, had approached the Supreme Court seeking an urgent hearing in the matter.

Sibal told reporters after approaching Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi that they were asked to appear before the senior-most judge of the top court in the morning tomorrow. There are reports that the former finance minister was missing from his residence and the investigating agencies could not trace him.

The Congress party has hit out at BJP calling the ongoing investigations against Chidambaram a ‘vendetta politics’.
