Newly-wed man beaten to death in Ganjam village
Ganjam: A newly-wed man was allegedly beaten to death by his cousin brother over property dispute in Aladi village under Jagannath Prasad police limits of Bhanjanagar on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Nilabandhu Sahu of the same locality.
According to sources, Nilabandhu had gone to river to take bath when his cousin brother along with another associate waylaid him and attacked him with a sharp weapon. Following which, he died on the spot.
Locals immediately informed the matter to Nilabandhu’s family member who then lodged a complaint with the police.
On intimation, police reached the spot and launched a probe into the matter. The body was seized and sent to a local hospital for post-mortem.
Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt to nab the absconding accused.
