New rail-bridge to come up on Mahanadi confluence
Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railways (ECoR) will construct a new rail-bridge near the confluence of the Mahanadi and River Tel in Odisha.
The new rail-bridge will boost connectivity in the under construction Khurda Road-Bolangir rail line.
A budget of Rs 23 crore has been earmarked for the construction of the bridge, while the tender has been floated by the Railways for the proposed bridge.
The bridge, which is said to be the longest rail bridge in the section, will come up near Sonepur town along the broad gauge line alignment.
The ECoR officials, who have inspected the site and scrutinised the area for undertaking the new assignment, claimed that the bridge site lies at a distance of 2.5 km from the confluence of the Mahanadi and Tel river.
