New bridge to come up over River Subarnarekha
Bhubaneswar: A new bridge over River Subarnarekha at Panthei in North Balasore will be constructed soon for which the state government has already floated tenders.
The bridge aims to connect the state’s West Bengal border area roads to the North Balasore areas.
According to reports, the state government has sanctioned a budget of Rs 190 crore for the proposed 1.4-km-long bridge. The bridge would reduce a distance of 20km from Balasore to Chandenswar.
Moreover, the bridge will prove good connectivity to the tourists to reach Talseri, Udayapur, Baliapal’s Dagara beach, Chandaneswar and Bhusandheswar temple, a government statement said.
Worth mentioning here that, the Industry Minister Anata Das, Balasore MP Rabindra Jena, MLA Nityananda Sahoo and MLA Jibanpradeep Das had urged the CM Naveen Patnaik to build a bridge over the river, during the construction of Panchuguda bridge at Sulpata in 2016.
